Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and dependable Plant Health Care (PHC) Technician to support the health and vitality of trees and shrubs through proper diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has an eye for detail, and is committed to environmental stewardship and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Inspect and monitor trees and shrubs for signs of disease, pests, and nutrient deficiencies Diagnose plant health issues and recommend appropriate treatment plans Apply fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, and soil amendments using proper techniques Perform root collar excavations, soil injections, and foliar applications Maintain accurate records of treatments, applications, and site conditions Communicate effectively with clients regarding plant health, treatment plans, and follow-up care Safely operate and maintain PHC equipment (sprayers, injectors, etc.) Follow all safety guidelines and environmental regulations related to chemical applications Assist with other tree care operations as needed Qualifications Previous experience in plant health care, landscaping, arboriculture, or a related field required Knowledge of tree and shrub species, pests, and diseases Ability to identify common plant health issues and recommend treatments Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe) Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Lift and carry up to 50+ pounds regularly Stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods Ability to safely handle and apply chemical treatments Certifications ISA Certified Arborist•Preferred State Pesticide Applicator License•Required What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Opportunities for training Career advancement in arboriculture and plant health care Supportive team environment
Pay:
$23.00•$27.00 per hour
