This position will pull supplies for surgery cases, place the supplies where they belong, run supplies between the storeroom and the OR, stock shelves, and labeling. Experience with storeroom / inventory strongly preferred. Primary Function/General Purpose of Position The Materials Tech is an all-around team member who is trained and able to perform all different functions in the Materials Management department. Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, Senior Materials Tech or the OR Materials Supervisor, the Materials Tech performs PAR and inventory management; supply and equipment receiving, delivery and inventory management; and OR case carts as directed. The Materials Tech may be asked to perform any of these tasks based on the hospital volume and staffing of the department. Essential Job Functions M ay require operation of a vehicle for our organization . If applicable, the selected candidate/employee must possess a valid, current South Carolina driver's license. In addition, the selected candidate/employee must be insurable under our organization vehicle insurance plan, which will be verified by reviewing licensure and driving record.PAR and Inventory Management, OR Case Carts:
counts and checks inventories at the PAR locations; picks and delivers the products to the PAR locations; fills on-demand requests for supplies; rotates stock at PAR locations; checks for outdates at PAR locations; issues products from the storeroom; puts away stock; credits products; replenishes products; picks orders; assists with cycle counts; assists in cleaning the storeroom; delivers products from the storeroom when ordered.OR Case Carts:
Picks materials for case carts from inventory based on pick tickets. Communicates any shortages or discrepancies immediately to the appropriate Logistics Manager or OR Materials Supervisor.Supply and Equipment Receiving, Delivery and Inventory Management:
Receives products into Materials Management system; delivers products ordered by customers in a timely manner and requests signature as required; utilizes handheld scanners appropriately to track chain of custody for packages received and delivered throughout health system. Follows defined processes to ensure receipts are accurate prior to placing products into inventory. Assists in keeping delivery areas clean and functional. Licensing/Certification None Education High School Graduate or GED Work Experience Two years of experience in a storeroom or warehouse preferred, or previous customer service or retail experience. Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Basic computer skills including MS Windows. Proficient in PMM Pathways, with Supply Tracking System and the ability to use hand held scanners preferred. Self-directed and able to work independently. Ability to operate standard office equipment (ex. fax machine, printers, PC's). Can handle supply carts and can operate cardboard compactor, manual and powered pallet jacks.
