Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our emergency response team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in critical care, hospital settings, and emergency medicine, with a strong focus on patient assessment, airway management, and vital signs monitoring. This role involves providing immediate medical care in urgent situations, ensuring patient safety during transport, and supporting medical teams in high-pressure environments. Candidates with experience in trauma centers, critical care transport, and advanced life support are highly preferred. The EMT will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, efficient, and effective emergency medical services. Duties Respond promptly to dispatched calls, assessing situations quickly and accurately to determine the appropriate level of care. Provide advanced patient assessment by monitoring vital signs, conducting physical examinations, and evaluating physiological responses. Administer essential emergency treatments such as airway management, medication injections, and basic life support techniques. Operate emergency vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws and driving regulations; perform heavy lifting and physical tasks required during patient extrication or transport. Maintain sterile techniques and proper infection control procedures during patient care procedures like venipuncture or medication administration. Collaborate with hospital staff during patient handoffs, providing detailed reports on patient condition, treatment administered, and observed vital signs. Document all patient interactions thoroughly using medical terminology and electronic health records, ensuring accuracy for legal and medical purposes. Skills • Proven EMT experience with a strong background in emergency medicine and critical care transport Critical care experience preferred; hospital experience highly valued Expertise in airway management, airway devices (DME), and ventilator support techniques Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to emergency medicine Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs measurement, physical examinations, and triage procedures Experience administering injections, medication administration, venipuncture, and using aseptic techniques Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform physically demanding tasks during emergencies Strong driving skills with a valid driver's license for operating emergency vehicles under urgent conditions Familiarity with Level II trauma centers or Level I trauma center protocols is advantageous Excellent communication skills for clear documentation and effective teamwork in high-stress environments Ability to remain calm under pressure while providing compassionate patient care
Pay:
$21.63 - $24.72 per hour
