Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant works closely with each of the clients and medical staff. Responsible for medical monitoring/observation and coordination of consulting with medical staff, clinical staff, and providers. They are also responsible for following policies/procedures and implementing of medical aspects in accordance to company standards and guidelines.QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years of experience in a medical, pharmacy, or supporting individuals with a primary mental health diagnosis.
- Strong professional references attesting to a high degree of clinical judgment, customer service, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Valid driver's license.
- Clean DMV record and/or in accordance with company insurance requirements.
- Must have a TB test, CPR/First Aid certification, and health screening.
- Must have criminal background clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Active CA Board Certified Medical Assistant Certification
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Observes, documents, audits, and keeps record of all observed, inventoried, destroyed, and prescribed medications.
- Enters and maintains patient medical records including history, visit records into the EMR, keeps track of patient prescriptions, orders, adjustments etc.
- Observes, documents, and keeps record of client health status.
- Works closely with Nurses, Physician Assistants, Medical Director, LMFT, and Case Managers on client health status and presenting conditions.
- Manages, completes and updates of the Medication Observation Record Sheets and system. Set all medical appointments for clients including medical, dental, and psychiatric as needed.
- Provides patient education and support to clients, staff, and family members.
- Monitors and coordinates the flow of client blood draws, injections, drug screens and complete lab requisitions forms in accordance with clinic policy.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
