Edinburg, TX Job Details Part-time | Full-time | PRN $16 - $18 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications EMT Certification Patient assessment Basic life support Driving Aseptic technique Medical terminology Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide patient care and transportation. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in emergency medicine, patient assessment, airway management, and trauma care within fast-paced environments such as Level I and Level II trauma centers, hospitals, or urgent care settings. This role requires a strong understanding of physiology, medical terminology, and the ability to perform under pressure to ensure patient safety and well-being during emergency situations. Duties Provide immediate medical attention including airway management, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (BLS). Perform physical examinations and patient assessments to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses. Operate emergency vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws; possess strong driving skills for rapid response scenarios. Assist with critical care transport for patients requiring specialized medical interventions en route to healthcare facilities. Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, vital signs, treatments administered, and observations. Follow protocols for infection control, DME usage, and proper handling of medical supplies in compliance with healthcare standards. Collaborate effectively with hospital staff, including ER personnel and trauma teams, ensuring seamless patient handoff. Experience Demonstrated proficiency in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, physiology knowledge, and anatomy understanding. Strong background in medical terminology and aseptic techniques necessary for safe patient care. Previous roles involving critical care transport or emergency room work will be advantageous. Valid EMT certification with current licensure; experience with heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks is essential.
