AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates telephone, answers inquiries or forwards calls and takes messages; provides general assistance and back-up support to school nurse. Organizes and maintains Student Health Files. Assists nurse with accurate documentation of student clinic visits, screenings, treatments, and parent notification. Assists nurse in performance of routine screening for vision and hearing. Maintains accurate immunization records and enters immunization data in Student Locator. Maintains confidentiality in all health clinic matters. Administers routine medications to all students, under the supervision of and with training by the school nurse. Maintains daily log of medications given. Attends yearly central training for administering medications. Assists with clinic supply ordering and organization. Able to work with sick and/or injured persons, which may include exposure to bodily fluids and disruptive behavior. Must be trained or willing to be trained in CPR and first-aid. (HCS will provide training). Other duties as may be assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED required. Proficiency in Macintosh compatible software preferred. Preferably 1-2 years experience in an office setting, or supplemental courses in keyboarding and/or office practices.
