Job Description

Job description: Part-time and Full-time Overview Evolution House is substance use disorder treatment program providing housing and clinical services for men and women. We are seeking a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team. The CPRS is an integral member of the team drawing from their own lived experience in their personal recovery journey to support clients by providing guidance, encouragement, and mentorship. Responsibilities
  • Provide support and recovery focused guidance to individuals facing behavioral health challenges related to Substance Use Disorder.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to provide insight into each client's experience and challenges they are facing daily.
  • Listen to each client with empathy and compassion and provide their experience, strength, and hope in their own recovery journey.
  • Drive the clients to the counseling center, peer led activities, and outside appointments as needed.
  • Lead and manage the residence(s) and serve as a role model for recovery focused behavior and conflict resolution.
  • Facilitate peer led house meetings with the clients that are focused on recovery principles and recovery community building.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to understand the clinical program that the clients are participating in to reinforce the program goals and outcomes.
  • Able to utilize basic computer skills and have a strong desire to learn the electronic health records system the clinical team utilizes.
  • Maintain HIPPA compliance while documenting clients progress and verbally while interacting with other staff members and clients.
  • Distribute and maintain clients prescribed medications according to the facility's medication administration record.
  • Facilitate urine analysis for clients as requested per clinical staff. Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED and Virginia DBHS 72 hour peer support specialist training.
  • Valid driver license
  • Strong understanding of basic computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills that promote de scalation and conflict resolution.
  • Understanding of Motivational Interviewing techniques.
  • Experience with working with teams and collaborating with diverse populations. Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with clients who live with Substance Use Disorder
  • Already Certified or Registered Peer Support Specialist
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
