We are currently seeking a Temporary Home Health & Hospice Data Entry Technician to join our team. Position Overview This temporary role will support the Intake and Medical Records departments at Kline Galland Home Health and Hospice. The primary responsibility is accurate and timely entry of patient information into the Home Health and Hospice electronic medical record (EMR) system. Information is typically received from multiple sources including electronic referrals, external systems, and faxed documents. This role plays a key part in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient admission process. Key Responsibilities Accurately enter all new patient data into the Home Health and Hospice EMR (demographics, insurance, providers, contacts, referral sources, diagnoses, allergies) Upload and organize clinical documentation within patient records Perform insurance verification and submit authorization requests Prepare admission hand-off communications for care teams Collaborate closely with Intake and Medical Records team members Maintain and electronically file medical records in compliance with standards Run reports and update internal spreadsheets and tracking tools High school graduate; college experience preferred. Recent experience with medical records system in home care/hospice agency preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology Demonstrated knowledge of electronic medical records or familiarity with complex systems and ability to learn. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work in a timely manner with accuracy and thoroughness. Demonstrated ability to respond well to supervision and to work independently when appropriate.
