Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Med Tech/Caregiver to provide exceptional care and support to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, medical documentation, and working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's and dementia. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need by delivering personalized, respectful, and professional care. Responsibilities Assist residents with daily activities including bathing, dressing, mobility, and personal hygiene to promote independence and dignity. Monitor vital signs and observe changes in health status, promptly reporting findings to healthcare professionals. Administer medications and treatments accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed medical records. Support residents with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, or other medical procedures under supervision. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of all patient information. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation of patient care activities. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a caring and respectful environment. Adhere to safety protocols related to infection control, medication administration, and emergency procedures. Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to prevent injury for both residents and staff. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic nursing practices. Experience with medical documentation systems such as EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is essential. Familiarity with dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is advantageous. Proven ability to perform tasks such as medication administration, vital signs measurement, catheter care, and tube feeding accurately. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining patient confidentiality in medical records management. Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to effectively interact with residents and team members. Home & community care experience that includes acute care settings is desirable for this role.
