RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate employee schedules and resolve staffing issues under the direction of the Revenue Cycle Director.

Supervise registration, customer service, and financial counseling staff.

Participate in hiring processes, onboarding, and performance evaluations.

Organize department training and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Act as a liaison between Patient Access and other hospital departments.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years of experience in registration, financial counseling, or billing.

At least 2-5 years of supervisory experience in a professional business setting (preferred).Certification in revenue cycle operations required (e.g., CRCS, NAHAM, or HFMA certification); must be obtained within one year if not already held.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general computer applications.

Strong understanding of revenue cycle operations, health information management, and federal regulations related to patient access.

Effective communication, multitasking, and attention to detail are essential.

Physical requirements include walking, standing, stooping, and prolonged periods of sitting; most duties are performed indoors with generally light physical demands. ENVIRONMENTThe South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska. This position is primarily office-based within a healthcare facility, requiring close collaboration with clinical and administrative teams. The environment is professional, fast-paced, and focused on supporting organizational goals through financial insight and analysis. Job hazards are minimal but may include typical office ergonomic risks and occasional exposure to confidential healthcare information, which requires discretion and compliance with privacy regulations. The position requires a moderate amount of mobility. The ability to reason, speak and have basic manual dexterity is essential. Physical demands are mild and may include sitting or standing for prolonged periods, walking, stooping and occasional lifting. Psychological demands can be very strenuous.
