Full Time Job Summary This position plays a vital role in the overall mission of The Shoulder. The Clinical Director oversees the development and implementation of all clinical services and activities provided by The Shoulder while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including licensing and accreditation requirements. Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or related fields is required.
  • Licensure in the field of study or Certification in addiction counseling required. (LPC, LMSW, LMFT, LCSW, …. Preferred)
  • 3 years of post-master's relevant experience is required.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with regulating agencies, including the Alabama Department of Mental Health, preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Electronic Health Record systems, and the general use of technology in a fast-paced environment is required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Leadership and Oversight
  • Leads, monitors and evaluates, the design and implementation of clinical services and activities that maintain and strengthen successful client outcomes.
  • Manages daily clinical operations, ensuring that the delivery of clinical services aligns with organizational vision, mission, clinical approach, and regulatory standards.
  • Supports organizational development through collaboration with community partners, referral sources, educational institutions, and ADMH.
  • Prepares reports and updates of clinical operations in support of organizational leadership and as required by regulatory agencies. Staff Supervision & Development
  • Develops and implements a clinical supervision plan for each member of the clinical team, ensuring that all clinical staff receive supervision at least once per month.
  • Conducts observations of clinical services and provides feedback to clinicians, assisting in their professional development.
  • Maintains documentation of all clinical supervision activities.
  • Interviews, and integrates, students for quality practicum and internship experiences.
  • Provides, or arranges for, regular supervision for all practicum and internship students as required.
  • Conducts quarterly performance reviews, and annual evaluations, of all clinical staff.
  • Maintains appropriate credentials and certifications as required by the State Department of Mental Health, and ensures all clinical staff maintain required credentials, certifications and continuing education credits. Clinical & Quality Assurance
  • Monitors and evaluates the daily activities schedule for each level of care, ensuring the quality and appropriateness of clinical services meets or exceeds standards of care.
  • Performs clinical chart reviews to ensure documentation follows regulating agency standards, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Represents the organization during audits, inspections, or other site visits by regulatory agencies.
  • Seeks continuing education in evidence-based practices and ensures all staff are using best practices in clinical services.
  • Facilitates clinical services including group and individual therapy sessions as needed.
  • Complete all documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Conducts assessments and intake screenings as needed.
  • Makes appropriate placement recommendations based on clients' assessed level of care.
  • Reviews assessments, as needed, from third parties for placement consideration.
