Job Description:
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions 1. Processes all outpatient diagnostic orders and physician referrals. 2. Completes a quality review of all patient charts ensuring charts are ready for patient visit. a. Informs medical records of needed records and ensures records are in patient chart and chart is prepared at least 24 hours ahead of visit time. 3. Monitors incoming phone messages, addressing issues within scope and redirecting others as needed for timely resolution. 4. Works closely with office staff to aid in patient scheduling. 5. Is cross trained and serves as a back-up for Medical Assistant. a. Contributes to the nursing assessment. Collects data accurately and timely. b. Works closely with the Physician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, and Clinic Nurse to discuss patient problems and management. c. Implements the physicians' treatment plan based on the patient assessment ensuring all tests and appointments are ordered and received. d. Implements interdisciplinary teaching plan based on identified needs involving patient/family and evaluate/revise as needed. e. Assists with all patient coordination of care and follow up. f. Performs phlebotomy on patients, if needed. 6. All other duties as assigned.
