Job Description

Job Summary The Access to Care department plays a crucial role in overseeing the initial patient access to services, ensuring that all administrative processes related to patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification are executed efficiently. This position requires strong communication skills and a understanding of psychiatric medical terminology and office operations within the mental health setting. The ideal candidate will foster a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Oversee patient registration processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information collected. Coordinate scheduling of appointments and procedures, optimizing the use of resources while minimizing wait times for patients. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards according to agency policy and expectations. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and enhance overall patient experience. Address any patient inquiries or concerns regarding their access to services or insurance coverage. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures to support staff training and development. Offer input to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the department. Run assigned reports and manage information as instructed. Experience Proven experience in a medical administrative support role, preferably within a mental health office setting. Strong understanding of psychatric medical terminology and healthcare operations is essential. Previous office or call center experience is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
