Medical Cannabis / Healthcare Retail We are seeking a Dispensary Supervisor (Certified Dispenser) to join our team at Alabama's first medical cannabis dispensary. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in retail management, pharmacy technician roles, healthcare, or cannabis dispensary operations who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The Dispensary Supervisor plays a key role in helping patients with qualifying conditions access physician-recommended medical cannabis while supporting store operations, managing inventory systems, and assisting with team leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing healthcare industry and build leadership experience in a professional retail environment. Final candidates must be able to successfully complete all required background checks and regulatory onboarding requirements before working in a licensed dispensary. What You'll Do in Your First 90 Days Support Daily Dispensary Operations Help oversee daily operations of the dispensary Provide outstanding service and guidance to patients Maintain a professional, welcoming retail environment Work closely with management to ensure smooth store operations Manage Inventory & Products Receive and verify product deliveries Assist with inventory organization and regular inventory counts Track products using METRC seed-to-sale tracking software Operate point-of-sale systems such as Dutchie Monitor inventory levels and help resolve discrepancies Support the Team Assist with employee training and onboarding Promote a positive and collaborative team culture Help address patient or employee concerns professionally Systems & Documentation Accurately enter patient and transaction information into POS systems Maintain organized inventory and sales records Assist management in preparing for routine compliance reviews What We're Looking For Education or Experience Candidates must have at least two (2) years of education or professional experience in one of the following fields: Biology Chemistry or Biochemistry Physiology or Pharmacology Medicine or Nursing Pharmaceuticals Medical Cannabis A related healthcare or scientific field Experience Supervisory or management experience required Retail, pharmacy technician, healthcare, or dispensary experience preferred Experience working in regulated industries is a plus Skills Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Excellent customer service abilities Strong organizational and multitasking skills Attention to detail and problem-solving ability Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment Technical Skills Comfortable using computers and retail systems Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling Ability to learn METRC inventory tracking systems Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred Education & Licensing Two years education or experience in a related field (referenced above) required College coursework or degree in a related field (referenced above) preferred Alabama Board of Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred Why Join Our Team Be part of a growing medical cannabis industry Work in a patient-focused healthcare environment Opportunities for career advancement and leadership growth Supportive and collaborative team culture Ideal Candidates May Have Experience As Dispensary Supervisor Cannabis Dispensary Associate Pharmacy Technician Retail Store Manager Healthcare Retail Specialist Inventory Manager Medical Cannabis Dispenser (regulated markets) Who Thrives in This Role The most successful candidates in this role are individuals who: Enjoy working in a structured, regulated environment Take pride in accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail Have experience managing inventory, retail operations, or healthcare environments Value professionalism and patient service Are comfortable balancing customer service with regulatory responsibilities Our Culture Callie's Apothecary is an Alabama‑owned and operated family of medical dispensaries serving patients across the state. Regulatory Requirements (Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission) This position is classified as a Certified Dispenser under the Alabama medical cannabis program. Individuals hired for this role must meet the qualifications required for dispensary personnel under the Darren Wesley "Ato" Hall Compassion Act (Ala. Code §20-2A-1 et seq.) and applicable rules of the Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission (AMCC) . Candidates should have at least two (2) years of education or professional experience in a relevant field such as biology, chemistry, pharmacology, medicine, nursing, pharmaceuticals, medical cannabis, or a related healthcare or scientific discipline. Candidates with backgrounds in healthcare, pharmacy, laboratory sciences, or regulated retail environments are strongly encouraged to apply.
