POSITION
Domestic Violence Case Manager STATUS:
Full-Time
RESPONSIBLE TO
Assistant Director/Director of DV Services Job Summary:
Responsible for providing assessment, safety planning, referrals, life skills and financial planning as part of provision of case management to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide day to day case management and record keeping for residents and non-resident clients Keep organized and detailed case files Provide daytime supervision of residents and provide or arrange transportation as needed Assess client to determine the extent to which domestic violence is a factor in the client's life; the effect of violence on the client's efforts to participate in employment activities; the risk of harm faced by the client and her/his children; the history of the violence and of previous help-seeking efforts; and the service needs of the client and her/his children. Develop individual goals and objectives for each client and provide ongoing case management services to ensure clients are given every opportunity to succeed Provide each client with assistance in safety assessment and planning Assist clients with identifying housing opportunities and assist them with financial programs, applications and all required forms. Learn, comprehend and assist clients with programs designed to prevent homelessness Answer crisis calls and provide resources, services available, and referral to other Turning Point services as well as other community programs Refer the client to other services as needed Advocate for the client with other service providers Monitor the client's continued needs for safety and services Prepare monthly reports for supervisor Maintain Client records and statistical information Perform other tasks as required by the Executive Director and Assistant Director
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in social services field. Prefer a minimum of two years' experience in the area of domestic violence, sexual assault or other area of social work. Skilled with MS Office applications and familiar with data-entry systems Must demonstrate sound judgement, remain calm, and be able to function in a crisis Knowledge of community resources while establishing contacts with owners and leasing agents and various community organizations. Must have excellent human relations skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written
WORK SCHEDULE
Normal work schedule is 40 hours per week, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

$35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
