Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description Overview:
Central Arkansas Gastroenterology Clinic is seeking a compassionate, organized, and patient-focused Clinical Care Coordinator to join our team. This role is ideal for a Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who enjoys both direct patient interaction and coordinating care in a fast-paced specialty practice. The Clinical Care Coordinator serves as an essential member of the care team by supporting providers, facilitating patient flow, coordinating care needs, and helping ensure an exceptional patient experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Room patients and obtain/document vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and chief complaints Prepare patients for office visits and assist providers during examinations and procedures as needed Coordinate patient intake and facilitate efficient clinic workflow Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications and procedure preparation instructions Triage patient calls and communicate patient concerns appropriately to providers Process prescription refill requests according to established protocols Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, procedures, and follow-up appointments Document patient information accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) system Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and equipment Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, infection control, and clinic policies Collaborate with providers and staff to support quality patient care and operational efficiency
Qualifications:
Current Medical Assistant certification or active Arkansas LPN license required Current CPR/BLS certification required Previous experience in an outpatient clinic, physician office, or specialty practice preferred Gastroenterology experience preferred but not required Experience with EMR systems preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Travel & Work Location Requirements:
This position requires travel between clinic locations as part of the regular work schedule.
Weekly schedule includes:
Mondays & Thursdays:
Little Rock clinic
Tuesdays & Wednesdays:
Searcy clinic
Fridays:
Employee-selected home base location (Little Rock or Searcy) Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between clinic locations. as needed.
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
