This position will begin as a Server Assistant with hands-on training in all aspects of our service style, menu knowledge, guest interaction, and restaurant operations, with the goal of developing into a Lead Server and hospitality leadership position over time. This role is ideal for someone with strong hospitality instincts, professionalism, emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion for guest experience. The ideal candidate must be highly adaptable and capable of quickly learning a detailed Japanese food, sake, and cocktail program that may be unfamiliar to most hospitality professionals in Arizona. This is not a traditional restaurant serving position. We are looking for someone who can eventually help elevate and maintain service standards, support front-of-house leadership, and contribute to the long-term hospitality culture of the restaurant. Growth Path Training progression may include: Server Assistant Server Lead Server / Service Leadership Responsibilities Advancement is based on demonstrated professionalism, knowledge development, leadership ability, operational understanding, and consistency under pressure. Primary Responsibilities Hospitality & Guest Experience Deliver warm, attentive, and detail-oriented hospitality to all guests Learn and maintain extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine, seasonal ingredients, sake, cocktails, and omakase service Help create a welcoming and refined dining experience for both first-time and repeat guests Maintain professionalism, composure, and hospitality standards during high-volume service Learning & Operational Development Quickly absorb menu knowledge, restaurant systems, and service expectations Learn service flow, reservation management, guest pacing, and communication between FOH and BOH teams Demonstrate strong awareness, anticipation, and adaptability during service Participate in ongoing hospitality and leadership development Leadership Development As the role progresses, responsibilities may expand to include: Supporting service training and onboarding Helping maintain hospitality and service standards Assisting with shift organization and floor coordination Supporting customer relations and guest recovery Assisting with supply organization and operational readiness Supporting communication and teamwork between service staff and management Qualifications Previous experience in upscale dining, luxury hospitality, fine dining, or guest-focused service preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to learn complex and unfamiliar food and beverage programs quickly Strong attention to detail and professionalism Ability to remain calm, organized, and guest-focused under pressure Self-motivated with strong follow-through and accountability Open-minded, coachable, and team-oriented Interest in Japanese cuisine, hospitality, and beverage culture strongly preferred Possess City/State Food Handlers Card Knowledge of restaurant booking systems Knowledge of restaurant POS systems such as TOAST Ideal Traits Hospitality-first mindset Humble and eager to learn Strong emotional intelligence Naturally attentive and observant Consistent and reliable Able to balance warmth with professionalism Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment You will need to meet with the owners and managers for an interview prior to employment.
