Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized IR Patient Care Coordinator & Scheduling Team Lead to support the daily operations of our Interventional Radiology (IR) scheduling and patient coordination team. This role serves as a working lead responsible for providing excellent patient service while helping oversee scheduling workflows, phone operations, and front-office coordination. The Team Lead will assist with training, workflow standardization, scheduling support, and issue resolution while continuing to perform day-to-day patient care coordination responsibilities. This individual will help ensure a positive patient experience from the first phone call through treatment completion while supporting efficient clinic operations. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Serve as a lead resource for IR Patient Care Coordinators and Scheduling staff Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring team members Support daily scheduling operations and help ensure efficient patient flow Greet callers warmly and provide exceptional customer service Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and visitors Use sound judgment when handling calls and sensitive medical information Ensure calls are answered promptly and routed appropriately Schedule, confirm, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information within the EMR system Match physician and clinician availability with patient needs and scheduling guidelines Maintain accurate scheduling systems and patient records Communicate effectively with physicians, clinicians, and staff regarding scheduling concerns or patient needs Support coordination of medical records requests, referrals, and related administrative tasks Address patient concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate Assist leadership with identifying workflow improvements and operational efficiencies Promote a positive, collaborative, and patient-focused work environment Support additional operational and administrative duties as assigned Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this job. Minimum 3-5 years in surgical scheduling, ASC operations, or healthcare coordination. Leadership experience preferred. Proficient knowledge of insurance. Computer proficiency and prior experience with the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system is a plus. Urology experience is a plus. Travel:

Excellent customer service skills. Attention to detail and willingness to learn. Proficient knowledge of medical terminology. Strong communication skills, both verbal & written. Proficient computer software and database skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Very comfortable asking probing questions to patients. Must demonstrate a caring, compassionate, and patient attitude. Maintain HIPAA compliance. Multitasking and proactive problem-solving. Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
