This position is designed for a BCBA who is passionate about providing direct clinical leadership, staff development, and high-quality ABA services across in-home settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, leadership abilities, organizational skills, and experience supervising ABA services for children and adolescents within home and community-based environments. This role is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of individualized ABA treatment programs to ensure high-quality clinical care and positive client outcomes. The Clinical Supervisor / Clinical Director will provide direct supervision and mentorship to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), Behavior Technicians (BTs), Program Managers, and clinical staff while ensuring services are delivered ethically, professionally, and in accordance with BACB standards, insurance requirements, HIPAA regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Assessments & Clinical Evaluations:
Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), risk assessments, preference assessments, and skill-based assessments to identify client strengths, behavioral functions, barriers to learning, and areas requiring intervention. Utilize assessment tools such as the VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, PEAK, QABF, FAST, Vineland, and other standardized assessments as clinically appropriate. Analyze behavioral and assessment data to develop individualized, measurable, and socially significant treatment goals. Conduct reassessments and ongoing evaluations to monitor client progress and treatment effectiveness across home and community-based settings. Develop clinical recommendations and treatment strategies based on assessment findings and client-specific needs. Develop & Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Create individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), skill acquisition programs, reinforcement systems, crisis intervention procedures, and replacement behavior programs based on assessment results and evidence-based ABA practices. Develop interventions targeting communication skills, social skills, emotional regulation, adaptive living skills, coping strategies, school readiness, daily routines, and reduction of maladaptive behaviors including aggression, self-injurious behavior, tantrums, elopement, noncompliance, and other challenging behaviors. Implement evidence-based ABA strategies while ensuring interventions remain individualized, functional, trauma-informed, and aligned with client goals and quality-of-life outcomes. Tailor interventions to the unique needs of each client and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated based on ongoing data analysis, staff feedback, and client progress. Ensure treatment programming promotes dignity, independence, safety, autonomy, and least restrictive treatment practices.
Supervise & Train Behavior Technicians:
Provide direct and indirect supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), Behavior Technicians (BTs), and clinical support staff providing in-home ABA services. Conduct regular supervision sessions to review client progress, ensure treatment fidelity, monitor staff performance, and provide ongoing feedback and support. Train and mentor staff in ABA principles, behavior intervention procedures, crisis prevention strategies, data collection systems, professionalism, documentation standards, and ethical practices. Utilize Behavioral Skills Training (BST) including instruction, modeling, rehearsal, competency assessments, and performance feedback. Assist with onboarding, employee development, corrective action support, and performance evaluations of clinical staff. Support company leadership with recruiting, interviewing, screening, and hiring qualified candidates for clinical and direct support positions.
Monitor & Analyze Client Progress:
Collect, review, and analyze behavioral and skill acquisition data regularly to assess treatment effectiveness and client progress toward individualized goals. Utilize data-driven decision-making to modify treatment plans, update behavioral strategies, and determine the continuation, fading, or discontinuation of interventions. Ensure ongoing monitoring of client behavior, environmental variables, and treatment implementation across all settings. Prepare and complete progress reports, treatment plans, assessments, discharge summaries, supervision notes, and interdisciplinary recommendations within required timelines. Ensure clinical documentation remains accurate, organized, timely, and compliant with company standards, funding source requirements, and regulatory expectations. Collaboration with
Families & Multidisciplinary Teams:
Work closely with families and caregivers to provide education, guidance, and support regarding behavior intervention strategies and treatment implementation within the home environment. Conduct parent training sessions focused on communication skills, behavior management strategies, reinforcement systems, coping strategies, crisis prevention, and consistency across environments. Meet regularly with family members and interdisciplinary teams to review progress, discuss concerns, and collaboratively adjust treatment plans as needed. Collaborate with professionals including teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, physicians, and school personnel to ensure a coordinated and holistic treatment approach. Participate in IEP meetings, treatment team meetings, behavior review meetings, and family support meetings as needed.
Ensure Ethical, Professional, & Quality Clinical Practices:
Adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) ethical guidelines and professional standards at all times. Maintain client confidentiality and protect all sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA and applicable state and federal regulations. Advocate for the dignity, rights, autonomy, and independence of clients while ensuring services remain person-centered and clinically appropriate. Maintain professionalism, positive communication, and collaborative working relationships with clients, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams. Support quality assurance initiatives by reviewing clinical documentation, supervision compliance, treatment fidelity, and overall service quality across all in-home programs. Assist executive leadership with policy implementation, clinical oversight, operational support, staff development, and organizational growth initiatives. Provide clinical support and crisis intervention guidance during behavioral escalations or high-risk situations.
Position Structure:
This is a fully in-person leadership position requiring regular onsite involvement within client homes, community settings, staff meetings, trainings, and company operations. The Clinical Supervisor / Clinical Director will maintain an active presence in overseeing clinical programming, direct staff supervision, parent training, treatment implementation, quality assurance, and operational support.
The position may require:
Daily in-person supervision and field-based oversight Attendance at staff meetings and leadership meetings In-person parent training and caregiver collaboration Direct observation of RBT and BT implementation Crisis intervention support and clinical oversight Participation in trainings, quality assurance reviews, and company events Flexibility to support operational and staffing needs as necessary
Qualifications:
Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field Experience supervising RBTs and ABA staff within home and community settings Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Experience conducting assessments, writing treatment plans, and supervising behavioral programming Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
Salary & Compensation:
This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000-$100,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, certifications, leadership experience, and overall clinical expertise. Additional compensation considerations may be provided based on specialized experience, caseload responsibilities, operational involvement, and company needs.
