Pay:
$27.00 per hour We are a 24/7 facility therefore one must be able to work weekends and holidays as required. All applicants are required to complete and pass a drug screening, physical exam with tuberculosis (TB) skin test, and criminal clearance through FBI and Department of Justice. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Develop, implement, and supervise the Health Center recreation therapy program and staff. Attend Care conferences, MDS, Stand-up, QAPI, psychotropic and Interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings. Monitor residents' behavior due to psychotropic medication. Assist with/leads recreation therapy programs and classes as needed. Coordinate the activity schedule with other resident services. Maintain a current list of residents from the nursing service who are not physically able to participate in group activities. Full Job descriptions may be provided upon request
QUALIFICATIONS
Activity Director certification required BS in Recreation Therapy or closely related field, and CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) and/or RTC (Recreation Therapy Certification) certification required. At least two (2) years of experience preferred in a long-term care facility working directly with residents and families; preferably in activities. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity with Title 22 regulations preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, speak and write the English language in order to understand instructions and communicate effectively with staff and residents.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, and squatting involved. Must be able to push residents in Geri chairs and/or wheelchairs. May be exposed to communicable diseases, HIV and HBV Protective clothing, equipment and exposure control training (including Hepatitis B vaccine) provided. Works in clean well-lit sanitary environment with frequent interruptions. May be subjected to offensive odors and combative resident behavior.
