POSITION SUMMARY
The Oncology Patient Coordinator position is designed to be a point of contact for patients both inside and outside the clinic setting. The Coordinator will accurately collect and analyze all required demographic, insurance, financial and clinical data elements necessary to coordinate the scheduling of multiple appointment types among several cancer center departments, register and book patient appointments, and supports clinic with maintaining and monitoring infusion, lab and clinic schedules to maximize utilization and efficiency. The Incumbent is responsible for the provision of oncology scheduling activity to facilitate efficient operations, expeditious reimbursement, optimal patient satisfaction and to promote teamwork. The incumbent is responsible to further the mission of Enloe Health. The Incumbent is responsible to consistently demonstrate the core values of Enloe Health. The incumbent is responsible to perform their duties in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements and the Medical Center's Code of Conduct.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
Minimum:
•Six months experience working in an infusion or medical oncology office performing general clerical duties to include scheduling, referrals, registration, data entry, typing, customer relations.
Desired:
•Insurance verification experience•Knowledge of oncology treatment and therapy plan protocols.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES
Must be able to follow instructions, learn the work routines associated with patient access workflow; work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment; must have good customer service and time management skills. Capable of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite) computer skills and general office equipment. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
