About Us :
Kohan International Foundation Counseling Center is a growing behavioral health practice providing mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Billing & Office Coordinator. This position combines medical billing, front office administration, patient support, and office operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating with patients, therapists, insurance companies, and referral sources while maintaining excellent organization and professionalism. ResponsibilitiesMedical Billing Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Submit insurance claims and monitor claim status Follow up on unpaid and denied claims Process appeals and claim corrections Review EOBs and ERAs Manage accounts receivable and patient balances Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim issues Assist with authorization and referral requirements Front Office & Reception Answer incoming calls professionally and courteously Schedule and coordinate appointments Assist new patients with intake and onboarding Respond to patient billing and scheduling inquiries Provide excellent customer service to patients and families Manage incoming emails, messages, and office communications Administrative & Office Support Coordinate with therapists regarding schedules, documentation, and client concerns Assist with provider credentialing and insurance enrollment Maintain office organization and workflow Support daily office operations and administrative projects Communicate with referral sources, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives Assist management with special projects and office procedures Qualifications Minimum 1 year of medical billing, healthcare administration, or medical office experience Strong knowledge of insurance verification and medical billing processes Experience handling denied claims and collections preferred Excellent customer service and phone communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and work independently Technical Requirements Candidates must be comfortable using: Google Workspace (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Shared Documents, Gmail, Calendar) Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems Insurance and billing portals General office technology and software platforms Preferred Qualifications Behavioral Health / Mental Health billing experience Experience with Office Ally, Practice Mate, Exym, or similar systems Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and insurance billing procedures Experience with Medicare, Medi-Cal, Anthem Blue Cross, Molina, Health Net, Blue Shield, Optum, and Carelon Experience verifying insurance eligibility and benefits Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply Career Growth Opportunity We are looking for someone who wants a long-term career, not just a job.
