Job Summary Independent of supervision, provide emergency and critical care nursing to small animal patients and technical support to clinicians, staff and students.
Perform as a shift supervisor and assist in the day-to-day operations of the Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Service (ECC) and Small Animal Patient Care Services (SAPCS). Provide quasi-instruction to students. Provide support to other VMTH departments as assigned. Provide facility maintenance.

- For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position Must possess a Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) or obtain within 3 months of date of hire.
No Minimum Education required.
Experience in a veterinary hospital environment in a supervisory role.
Experience to independently provide intense moment to moment monitoring and reassessment of emergent, critically ill, or anesthetized patients.
Experience working in a small animal clinic as an emergency room technician.
Experience using patient monitoring equipment.
Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to interact with a diverse group of people to include clients, clinician's students and staff. Preferred Qualifications Current California Registered Veterinary Technician License.
Skill in the placement of a multi-lumen catheter in either a peripheral or central vein and utilize proper technique(s) to secure and maintain the catheter. Key Responsibilities 40%

Its primary objectives are to train professional (veterinary) students, graduate clinical students (interns and residents), and graduate academic students; to provide veterinary services to the public; to serve as a referral center for practicing veterinarians, and to advance veterinary medical knowledge.
