Assistant Unit Manager (Pre-Admission, Pre-op and PACU)Job Summary:
As an Assistant Unit Manager in the Pre-Admission, Pre-op, and PACU department, you will be responsible for assisting the Unit Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the unit. You will help coordinate patient care, manage staff, and ensure that all policies and procedures are followed to provide high-quality care to patients before and after surgery.Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist the Unit Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Pre-Admission, Pre-op, and PACU departments. 2. Coordinate patient care to ensure optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction. 3. Manage and direct nursing staff and support personnel. 4. Assist in budget planning and control to achieve financial goals. 5. Implement and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines. 6. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care. 7. Provide leadership and mentorship to staff to promote growth and development. 8. Participate in performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed. 9. Assist in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety. 10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Unit Manager.Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's degree preferred. 2. Current RN licensure in the state of practice. 3. Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a Pre-Admission, Pre-op, or PACU setting. 4. Previous leadership or management experience preferred. 5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 6. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment. 7. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards. 8. Ability to lead and motivate a team. 9. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 10.
