Full Job Description Summary of Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for assisting patients with all aspects of surgery preparation in order to promote patient confidence in their medical care and to make the surgical experience as smooth as possible; acts as a liaison between the practice, surgical facility, patient and primary care physician; ensures excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as an effective liaison between the patient, surgeon, primary care physician, and the surgical facilities in all aspects of pre-operative preparations. Educates patients on all appropriate surgical options, both verbally and via print materials. Reviews pre-operative instructions with the patient. E-scribes prescriptions to the pharmacy. Ensures completion of the informed consent process and forms. Schedules all patient surgeries and pre-operative appointments. Send appropriate H&P forms, labs, EKGs, and radiology orders to the appropriate physicians/facilities. Efficiently collects all pertinent information for upcoming surgery such as insurance, H&Ps, signed consent forms, latest surgeon clinic notes (NextGen), ORA, LenSx information, and transfers to the surgical facility two weeks before surgery. Answers all inquiries from patients or physicians concerning surgery. Ensures communication with internal office departments regarding patient needs. Effectively tracks surgery counseling metrics such as surgery conversion rates and best-selling premium products. Educates patients on financing options, collects required payments. Experience:
High School diploma or GED required Minimum of three years of experience in a medical office, ophthalmology experience preferred 2+ years of medical Certificates/Licenses
CMA, COA, COT

Required Skills/Knowledge:
