Job Description

Job Summary:
The Coordinator-Outpatient Service provides customer service to patients referred for assigned cardiac specialty services. Coordinate patient care services while serving as patient advocate. Facilitates the delivery of optimal patient care. Obtains medical records, schedules patient appointments, and provides phone coverage. Assures good relationships and timely communications with referring physicians. Assists with the implementation of new programs and functions as a program resource. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Associate`s Degree preferred. Minimum six months of experience in a medical or physician practice setting as an administrative support staff or coordinator position. LLU system knowledge and experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; Use computer, printers, fax machines and software programs necessary for the position. Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position; Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction; be assertive and consistent in following policies. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; logically interpret data, ability to abstract pertinent billing information required from patients, reports and computer systems; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications:
Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
