Job Description

At Managed Resources (MRI), we partner with healthcare organizations nationwide to solve complex revenue cycle challenges and drive meaningful financial outcomes. As a leader in revenue cycle and compliance solutions, we are committed to delivering accuracy, integrity, and results for our clients. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Appeals & CDI Manager to support and oversee key functions within our Clinical Appeals department. This role works closely with the Senior Director of Revenue Cycle Operations to ensure the quality, accuracy, and effectiveness of clinical appeals and documentation integrity initiatives. Position Overview The Clinical Appeals & CDI Manager plays a critical leadership role in guiding clinical appeal processes, supporting nursing staff, and maintaining high standards of documentation and compliance. This individual will review appeal letters, contribute to audits and reporting, and collaborate across teams to support client deliverables and operational excellence. What You'll Do Partner with the Senior Director of Revenue Cycle Operations to support daily functions of the Clinical Appeals department Review and provide feedback on clinical appeal letters to ensure quality and alignment with company standards Serve as a resource to Clinical Appeal Nurses, providing guidance on research, documentation, and appeal strategy Support quarterly audit reviews and assist with performance evaluations Assist in managing nurse assignments and project workloads Contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting, including data gathering and analysis Participate in client meetings and internal management discussions as needed Help coordinate and contribute to staff meetings and team communications Maintain a structured and organized work queue of assignments Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and compliance standards Provide leadership support in the absence of the Director as needed What You Bring Registered Nurse (BSN preferred) or Physician Previous leadership or management experience preferred 5+ years of Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) experience 3+ years of DRG and coding appeal writing experience Required certifications: CCS, CDIP, and/or CCDS Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and payer reimbursement guidelines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Why Join MRI?
