In this vital role, you will serve as the bridge between patients and the clinical team, ensuring smooth communication, accurate documentation, and efficient scheduling. Your energetic approach and excellent organizational skills will help enhance patient experiences, streamline administrative processes, and support the overall success of our dental practice. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of patient care coordination while utilizing your comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology, insurance protocols, and medical billing systems. Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival and manage check-in/check-out procedures with professionalism and courtesy Verify insurance benefits, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification using systems like Epic, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Meditech Schedule appointments efficiently while coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily patient flow Review and process patient documentation, including medical histories, treatment plans, and consent forms ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist patients with understanding their treatment options, financial responsibilities, and payment plans; explain procedures clearly using dental terminology Manage medical billing processes including CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding (International Classification of Diseases), and Medicare/Medicaid claims submission Maintain organized medical records within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth; ensure all documentation review is thorough and up-to-date Handle front desk responsibilities including multi-line phone system management, appointment scheduling, filing, and patient inquiries with exceptional phone etiquette Support medical administrative functions such as office management tasks, data entry (10 key typing), and filing to ensure smooth office operations Experience Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and medical coding practices is essential Proven experience in medical billing, insurance verification, and working with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Dentrix or Eaglesoft Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Excellent customer service skills combined with clerical experience in a healthcare setting; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse patient populations Demonstrated ability to handle medical administrative support tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with strong typing skills (including 10 key typing) for accurate documentation and communication Experience working in hospital or healthcare environments involving care plans, documentation review, or health information management is advantageous Join us to be part of a passionate team dedicated to delivering exceptional dental care!
