Manager (operations / hospitality)

We're looking for a small group of front-of-house team members and managers who are genuinely passionate about ingredients, process, and hospitality. Ojai Mountain Farm is a bar, market, and deli rooted in our farm, where everything we serve starts with the land and is carried through with intention, from kitchen to bar to shelf. We work closely with what we grow, making our own spirits and preserving and fermenting in-house, with a menu that reflects seasonality, soil health, and a true farm-to-table approach. We're doing something special—right from our organic and biodiverse farm in Ojai, straight to our community's table—and are looking for special people to be a part of it. Position Summary Our Managers at Ojai Mountain Farm are on-the-ground operators, ensuring smooth daily flow and a high-quality guest experience across the bar, market, and dining areas. Working alongside our bar, retail, kitchen, and operations leaders, this role focuses on real-time oversight, problem-solving, and keeping the team aligned during service. Managers are the primary point of contact on site—supporting the team, handling guest needs, and upholding standards—while comfortably floating between bar, retail, and dining service wherever needed. They also act as a liaison between the owner and team, ensuring clear communication in both directions so the team feels supported and aligned.

Key Responsibilities:

Uphold service standards, product quality, and overall guest experience across all areas Actively support team members during service to maintain clarity, pace, and alignment Handle guest feedback, concerns, and escalations with professionalism and care Maintain strong knowledge of menu, beverage program, retail offerings, and in-house processes Oversee cleanliness, organization, and completion of daily/weekly maintenance tasks Monitor inventory levels, ordering needs or quality issues, supporting Bar, Kitchen and Retail Directors as needed Coordinate with bar, kitchen, retail, and operations leads to stay aligned across departments Troubleshoot issues in real time with a hands-on, resourceful approach, using quick thinking to resolve operational challenges and support basic maintenance and repair needs Communicate updates, priorities, and context from ownership while surfacing team feedback, needs, and operational insights so the team feels informed, supported, and aligned Step into FOH duties as needed, including service, running food, bussing, and light bar support Support training, onboarding, and reinforcement of service and operational standards Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment Foster a culture of respect and maturity at all times

Expectations & Requirements:

3-5 years management experience in hospitality or restaurants preferred. Food handler's certificate. Ability to work in fast-paced environment. Solid knowledge of food safety practices and ability to uphold at all times. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50lbs. Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills; emotional maturity and professionalism required. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, if needed.
