Familiarity with Orthopaedic is a plus!
Primary Job Duties:
Authorizations & Eligibility:
must confirm patient eligibility and benefits with insurance plans. knowledge in prior authorization to streamline the needs for clinic and facility services. Knowledge in DME Obtain authorizations & Referrals, minimum three days ahead of clinic schedule. Maintain turnaround time compliance of the prior authorization process. Assist other staff and support in authorizations as needed. Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes required. Maintains HIPAA Compliance Effectively answer incoming calls Knowledge with HMO,PPO's and insurance portals Work with Front Office staff, Back Office medical assistants and physicians with regards to any authorizations needed.
Requirements:
Must have at least one year Authorization Coordinator experience; Must know diagnostics, CPT codes. Experience with prior authorization and experience with HMO authorizations. Experience with an EMR/EHR system. Experience with Excel spreadsheets. Must have organizational skills and great phone etiquette
