In this vital role, you will provide exceptional administrative support, manage patient interactions, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures Manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes including Medicare and other payers Collect patient information accurately, update medical records, and review documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding to ensure accurate claims submission Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, handle appointment rescheduling, patient inquiries, and follow-up calls with excellent phone etiquette Maintain organized medical records, file documents securely, and manage electronic health information using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix when applicable Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative role with clinic or dental office experience preferred Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and health information management standards Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and perform insurance verification efficiently Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and 10-key typing skills Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Prior experience in front desk operations or medical office management is advantageous Strong communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to contribute to a compassionate healthcare environment.
