Are you a customer service expert with medical call center or front-office experience looking to join a high-performing surgical care team? We are seeking a friendly, team-oriented Practice Coordinator to support a busy orthopaedic specialty center in San Francisco, CA. In this vital, 100% on-site role, you will act as a primary communications bridge for patients, answering incoming inquiries, scheduling essential appointments, and delivering an empathetic, high-quality service experience. Support an outpatient orthopedic specialty surgery spine center by managing high-volume patient call flows, appointment coordination, and vital database administration. This role centers on providing top-tier patient access and seamless administrative teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer high-volume incoming patient calls (approx. 55-60 calls daily) to provide programmatic information and empathetic support. Schedule patient appointments and carefully coordinate logistics with clinical providers. Verify and update patient demographic details and insurance verification data accurately. Maintain strict HIPAA compliance while documenting comprehensive call details and inquiries. Partner closely with clinical and administrative staff members to troubleshoot and resolve patient challenges.
Requirements:
6 months to 1 year of experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare call center setting. Advanced technical proficiency navigating APeX/Epic electronic medical record software is strictly required. Excellent customer service skills, clear verbal communication, and a strong team-oriented attitude. Must clear standard onboarding, including background verification and drug screenings.
