Clinical Nutrition Manager Location:
San Gabriel Valley Medical Center Lead Nutrition Excellence. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nutrition Manager who can bridge exceptional patient care with strong operational leadership. This role is ideal for a Registered Dietitian who thrives in a hospital environment, enjoys mentoring teams, collaborating across departments, and maintaining high standards in both clinical nutrition and food service operations. Position Summary The Clinical Nutrition Manager oversees clinical dietitians, nutrition ambassadors, and nutrition-related operations. This position combines clinical expertise, leadership, staff development, chart auditing, patient care coordination, and active involvement with kitchen and food service operations. Key Responsibilities Provide nutrition assessments, reassessments, and patient education. Oversee and manage clinical dietitians and nutrition ambassadors. Conduct chart reviews and chart audits to ensure documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance. Serve as liaison between nursing, physicians, dietary staff, and kitchen operations. Participate in interdisciplinary patient care meetings. Develop, implement, and evaluate nutrition care programs. Train, coach, mentor, and evaluate clinical nutrition staff. Manage scheduling, staffing, payroll review, and performance management. Partner with kitchen leadership to ensure quality food service and patient satisfaction. Conduct meal rounds and test tray evaluations. Participate in food service operations and maintain visibility within kitchen functions. Support survey readiness and accreditation compliance activities. Develop policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives. Assist with weekend coverage and operational needs as required. Provide ongoing education to clinical and food service staff. Attend and actively participate in hospital committees and meetings, including but not limited to Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T), Policy Committee, Patient Satisfaction, Infection Control (IC), Quality, Medical Staff, and other interdisciplinary meetings as assigned. Represent Nutrition Services, provide subject matter expertise, present department initiatives and outcomes, and collaborate with hospital leadership to support organizational goals, regulatory compliance, and patient care excellence. Qualifications Registered Dietitian (RD) required. Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, or related field required. Master's degree may be required. Minimum 3 years of clinical nutrition experience required. Management or supervisory experience required. Hospital experience strongly preferred. Food service and kitchen operations experience preferred. Experience with training, coaching, and staff development. Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. Experience with chart auditing, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
