Job Description

We are a well-established oral surgery practice in San Mateo dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in a professional, supportive environment. Our team is growing, and we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Patient Financial Coordinator to join our front office. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a close-knit team where your contributions directly impact the patient experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify dental and medical insurance benefits and eligibility prior to appointments Accurately submit and track insurance claims (dental and medical billing) Prepare and present patient treatment cost estimates and financial arrangements Collect and process patient payments; manage accounts receivable Follow up on outstanding claims, denials, and appeals in a timely manner Respond to patient billing inquiries with professionalism and empathy Maintain accurate records in the practice management software Coordinate with clinical team to ensure documentation supports billing Post insurance payments and patient payments to accounts
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2 years of dental or oral surgery billing and front office experience preferred Working knowledge of dental insurance (PPO, HMO) and medical insurance billing Familiarity with CDT and ICD-10 coding a plus Proficiency in dental practice management software (Dentrix, WINOMS, similar) Strong understanding of treatment plan presentation and collections process Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and interpersonal Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment Team player with a positive, patient-first attitude
Pay:
$37.00 - $47.00 per hour
