Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Authorizations Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing various administrative tasks within our healthcare organization. This position requires a strong understanding of managed care, HIPAA compliance, pre-authorizations and medical terminology, along with excellent communication skills to facilitate interactions between patients, providers, and staff. Duties Manages patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Secures necessary pre-authorizations for medical treatments Coordinates with insurance companies and healthcare providers to ensure smooth processing of services. Collaborates with office staff to streamline operations and enhance patient experience. Provides support, including scheduling appointments and managing correspondence. Facilitates communication between healthcare providers and patients regarding treatment plans and insurance inquiries. Requirements Proven experience in managed care or a similar healthcare environment is required. Previous experience in prior authorizations is required. Familiarity medical terminology is essential. Experience with
ICD-10, CPT
codes and HCPCS. Experience with Athena EHR system and Klara a plus Experience working with a surgery practice or similar. Orthopedics a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with diverse populations. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data protection. Proficiency in office software applications to support administrative functions. Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
