Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Peer Team Manager ensures that lived experience is effectively utilized to drive resident stabilization and that all BHBH grant requirements, specifically those related to peer engagement and documentation, are met. The Manager provides administrative, clinical, and strategic oversight for the Peer Support functional zone. This role is responsible for ensuring the high-quality delivery of peer-led services across HSTEAM, IHART, and Harvey West teams.
STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP
Functional Zone Oversight Strategic Integration:
Develops and implements the agency-wide strategy for integrating Peer Coaches into multidisciplinary clinical teams, ensuring the peer voice is central to program design.
Standardized Practice:
Establishes and maintains the Front St. Peer Model, ensuring consistent engagement protocols, professional boundaries, and trauma-informed practices agency-wide.
Leadership Development:
Provides direct supervision and professional development for the Lead Peer Support Coach, empowering them to mentor the broader peer staff. B.
Recruitment & Culture Mission-Driven Hiring:
Oversees the recruitment and selection of peer team members with diverse lived experiences (mental health, substance use, and homelessness) to ensure the team reflects the population served.
Culture of Recovery:
Promotes a workplace culture that values lived experience and supports the ongoing wellness and professional growth of peer employees.
COMPLIANCE, DATA & QUALITY ASSURANCE
Grant & Performance Accountability Outcome Management:
Directly accountable for the Board-mandated metric: 80% or more of Harvey West residents on the Peer Team caseload receive at least 2 peer contacts per month.
Documentation Standards:
Ensures all peer staff are trained and proficient in the County EHR, ensuring 100% of service units are tracked accurately for BHBH revenue projection purposes.
Audit Readiness:
Conducts regular audits of peer documentation to ensure it meets CalAIM standards and accurately reflects peer-led rehabilitative efforts.
Training & Safety Core Competency Training:
Oversees the Harvey West site readiness training and ensures all peer staff complete annual mandated trainings including, but not limited to, NVCI, Harm Reduction, and Site-Specific Safety.
Crisis Management:
Collaborates with site managers to ensure peer staff are safely and effectively utilized in crisis de-escalation and stabilization efforts.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education :
B.A. or B.S. in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred; or equivalent experience managing peer-led or lived-experience programs.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in behavioral health, housing, or social services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Knowledge:
Deep understanding of the "Housing First" model and the unique challenges faced by individuals transitioning from chronic homelessness.
Certification:
California State Peer Specialist Certification preferred.
Skills:
Strong administrative and data management skills; ability to interface effectively with County partners and internal clinical leadership.
Pay:
$76,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
