Job Description

Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Locals enjoy weekly farmers markets in downtown Templeton, farm-to-fork dining, beautiful landscapes for hiking and biking, and beach days just fifteen minutes away at Cambria and Morro Bay.
Job Summary:
Acts as liaison between organization administration and the medical staff. Manages medical staff committees and supports medical staff leadership. Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget/impact.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Two years' experience in a medical staff services department or other related setting:
Preferred Essential Functions:
Maintains a positive relationship with medical staff leadership, representing administrative issues successfully to influence collaboration between physicians and leadership. Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the medical staff. Assumes responsibility for meeting management (agenda preparation, minutes, meeting follow-up, etc.) for assigned medical staff departments and committees functions. Maintains organized meeting documentation and prepares minutes and documents for regulatory review. Supports peer review process and documentation. Publishes and maintains emergency department call schedules. Assists in coordinating and monitoring the FPPE processes. Collaborates with medical staff leadership to create/revise privilege request forms. Tracks license and certification expirations for all providers to ensure timely renewals. Assists in credentialing functions for the medical and allied health staff if applicable. Maintains current knowledge of medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, hospital policies related to medical staff and regulatory agency requirements. Maintains medical staff database, official rosters and call schedules. Maintains medical staff documents, policies and procedures in such a way as to comply with regulatory requirements. Manages medical staff dues & fees. Tracks and updates expiring licenses, health records, and other certifications. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
