Position Overview:
As a Domestic Operations Supervisor , you will be responsible for processes and procedures used in freight forwarding activities, while operating within a team to coordinate, process, and manage all domestic logistics related to our outgoing business flows from our varies production facilities and 3rd party warehouses. Ensuring timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Operations Department.
Job Description:
Oversee scheduled domestic shipments to ensure on-time delivery in accordance with promised service levels. Source and select carriers that provide the most cost-effective and efficient transportation solutions. Ensure full compliance with applicable regulations, including DG, KSMS, TSA, and other relevant requirements. Prepare, review, and ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, quotations, and related documentation. Maintain accurate and complete records of all transportation transactions and activities. Consolidate shipments where possible to optimize load efficiency and reduce overall transportation costs. Track shipments in transit and proactively communicate status updates to relevant stakeholders. Negotiate competitive shipping rates and service terms with freight carriers. Continuously improve the processes on assigned regional logistics operations, with alignment on regional supply chain strategy, to support business developments in the assigned geographical region and to meet company targets. Implement and manage operational carrier agreements and act as operational escalation point for Logistics Service Providers and internal stakeholders with regards to service issues. Lead or support investigations related to transportation claims and complaints, ensuring timely resolution and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Support customer service teams with order status updates and resolution of special customer requirements. Resolve delivery-related issues in a timely and effective manner. Ensure reliable and efficient distribution of customer orders through coordination with multiple carrier partners, internal distribution facilities, and third-party logistics providers. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education And Experience:
Freight industry experience +5 years (required). Experience in freight forwarding operations processes and procedures. Relevant experience coordinating domestic logistics for trade show and exhibition shipments is required.
Qualifications:
Customer service oriented Attention to detail. Problem solving attitude. Active Listening Telephone Etiquette Basic Software Skills (Ms. Office & Ms. Excel) Basic Computer Skills Work authorization/security clearance requirements: Must be eligible to work in the United States Must pass TSA eligibility screening.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
