Job Description

Clinical Coordinator, Diagnostic Medical Sonography Location:
Aurora, CO Job Type:
Full-Time |

Pay:
Starting at$85,000 Casa Loma College is seeking a dynamic Clinical Coordinator, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) who will be a core faculty member responsible for developing, conducting, and coordinating the clinical education portion of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography curriculum, enabling the program to deliver up-to-date Diagnostic Medical Sonography education and to achieve its goals consistent with the mission of Casa Loma College. The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for managing externship programs and will ensure the externship site provides students with a quality learning experience. The Clinical Coordinator serves as a liaison between the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program and affiliated clinical education sites.
Key responsibilities:
This position requires local travel for regular site visits to clinical locations to assess the suitability of the site and to monitor students' performance. Site visits may be initiated by either the clinical site or the Clinical Coordinator to assess site suitability and monitor student performance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Coordination of Clinical Placement:
  • Coordinate and arrange externship for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program students.
  • Provide training and support to the clinical preceptors.
  • Provide student orientation and assistance in completing all necessary documentation prior to externship start.
  • Coordinate, track, and follow up on requirements for externship placements (immunization records, transcripts, certification, etc.).
  • Establish sufficient externship site to support the program.
  • Ensure site contracts are up to date.
  • Coordinate the initiation, approval and signing of sufficient affiliation agreements in support of programmatic needs.
  • Conduct preliminary evaluation of externship sites to determine suitability for student experience.
  • Present Externship and Site Assignment orientation workshops.
  • Conduct monthly site visits to externship sites.
  • Manage high volume of phone calls, email correspondence, data entry, and filing to maintain detailed communication with students and prospective employers
  • Collaborate closely with the Registrar to ensure accurate Trajecsys record keeping.
  • Collect and maintain records evaluate extern documentation and assess extern experience.
  • Manage the educational process of students during the clinical externship period.
  • Assist in development of strategies to maintain clinical relationships
  • Perform other responsibilities and projects as directed by Program Director.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Work Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the field of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience working as a staff Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Current ARDMS or ARRT (S) Certification Preferred Skills
  • Experience with clinical undergraduate DMS education
  • Experience in student learning outcome assessment.
  • Experience in a college setting.
  • Experience in academic advising
  • Familiarity with distance learning and alternative instructional delivery methods.
