$117,832 - $180,377 annually (based on experience) Position Summary The Director of Surgical Services provides strategic, operational, clinical, and financial leadership for the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department (SPD). This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered surgical care while overseeing staffing, quality initiatives, operational efficiency, budget management, regulatory compliance, and departmental growth. This leader will foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence while driving improved patient outcomes and supporting organizational goals. Department Overview Oversight of Main Operating Room (10 OR Suites) and Sterile Processing Department Facility includes 24 total operating rooms Surgical volume exceeds 1,000 cases per month Main OR accounts for approximately 50% of total surgical volume Supports multiple surgical specialties (excluding select specialty services) Advanced robotics program with multiple surgical systems Key Responsibilities Quality & Patient Safety Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards Monitor quality metrics and drive performance improvements Maintain equipment compliance and safety standards Clinical & Operational Leadership Oversee daily surgical services operations and nursing practices Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, and workflow efficiency Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and communication Patient Experience Lead initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and service quality Utilize feedback and data to enhance care delivery Team Leadership & Development Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing perioperative team Support staff engagement, retention, and professional development Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet patient care demands Strategic Growth Collaborate with physicians and leadership to expand surgical services Identify opportunities for operational improvement and innovation Support implementation of new technologies and programs Financial Management Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes Monitor labor and operational costs Optimize supply and equipment utilization Drive cost-efficiency while maintaining quality care standards Qualifications Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Required Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field - Preferred Experience Minimum 1 year of recent leadership experience in Surgical Services Director-level experience preferred; strong Manager-level experience considered Minimum 3 years of Surgical Services experience required Ideal Candidate Profile Strong leadership and decision-making skills Proven ability to manage clinical operations and drive performance Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Financial acumen with focus on efficiency and quality Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement For more details reach at or Call / Text at 516-587-6677 .
