Job Description

General Summary of Duties:
Fast paced Foot & Ankle specialty group seeking reliable Patient Coordinator for immediate, long term position. The Patient Coordinator will provide direct support to physicians and work closely with all team members to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of the office and provide exceptional and compassionate patient care.

Operations Manager Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Major Responsibilities/Tasks:
Gather accurate insurance and demographic information from patients Help the patient as needed by explaining kiosk registration or portal registration processes. Collect patient and insurance payments and balance cash daily. Get referrals and authorizations for office services as needed. Verify insurance benefits and document charts according to policy Provide information to patients about unpaid balances, collect outstanding balances and copays at the time of service. Scan records in the appropriate sections of patient charts and keep patient charts in the proper order. Follow company policies regarding patient privacy Keep the front office clean and organized, order office supplies as needed. Cover other front office positions in the event of unscheduled absences. Perform other related duties as directed or assigned. Answer telephone calls by the third ring, be friendly and polite to callers Remain current on company news by monitoring company communications (emails and announcements) and participating in staff meetings. Email should be checked daily.
Education:
High school graduation or GED.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of medical office experience.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge of the practice's policies and procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation for effective communication. Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
