We will offer 24/7 emergency care and a full range of specialty services. Job Summary The Clinical Manager is a key clinical leadership role responsible for supporting the daily operations, team development, and clinical excellence within the Emergency and Critical Care departments. Reporting to the Hospital Director and partnering closely with the Medical Director and service-specific DVM leaders, this individual will lead technician and assistant teams, ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and a cohesive, collaborative culture. This is a full-time, exempt position with a typical schedule of approximately 40 hours per week. Due to the nature of our 24/7 specialty and emergency hospital, leaders are expected to maintain flexibility in their schedules to support all shifts, team members, and operational needs. Occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities may be required. We are committed to creating sustainable schedules that support both hospital operations and leader well-being. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Clinical Operations
- Oversee day-to-day clinical support operations across assigned specialty services
- Partner with DVM leaders to ensure best-in-class patient care, workflow efficiency, and case management
- Support the development and implementation of service-specific protocols and standards of care
- Ensure seamless coordination between departments to promote continuity of care
- Identify and resolve workflow challenges to improve patient outcomes and team efficiency[LA2]
- Participate in regular leadership meetings with the HD, MD and other leaders in the hospital. Team Leadership & Development
- Directly supervise RVTs, veterinary assistants, and support staff within assigned services
- Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management in partnership with the Hospital Director
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities for clinical team members

- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and scheduling to meet patient care demands[LA3]
- Manage payroll expectations set by the HD
- Submit payroll for managed services.
- Monitor workflow efficiency, patient throughput, and service utilization
- Partner with leadership to track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Support inventory management, equipment utilization, and supply needs within services
- Assist in the development of scalable processes as the hospital grows Quality, Compliance & Patient Safety
- Maintain adherence to all regulatory and safety standards (OSHA, DEA, AAHA where applicable)
- Ensure proper handling, documentation, and administration of medications and treatment
- Promote a culture of patient safety, including error prevention and continuous improvement
- Participate in incident review and quality improvement initiatives Client & Referral Experience
- Support exceptional client communication through clinical teams
- Ensure compassionate, consistent, and transparent interactions with pet owners
- Collaborate with DVMs to support referral partner relationships and continuity of care
- Assist in service recovery efforts when needed[LA4] [CE5]
- Address and resolve client concerns in a timely manner Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT, CVT, or LVT) required
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a veterinary specialty and/or emergency setting
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Advanced technical skills in one or more specialty disciplines (e.g., anesthesia, ECC, surgery, oncology)
- Strong understanding of specialty workflows and hospital operations
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, start-up environment
