Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Clinical Support Supervisor provides daily operational leadership for the Clinical Support and Medical Assistant teams across South Denver Cardiology. This role supports safe, efficient patient care by overseeing workflow execution, staff performance, onboarding, communication, and daily operations across assigned pods and satellite locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Team Leadership & Operations Provide supervision, support, and oversight for MAs and Clinical Support staff across assigned locations. Manage daily pod assignments, coverage adjustments, and workflow expectations. Conduct regular huddles and monthly team meetings to support communication and alignment. Assist with staff concerns, workflow troubleshooting, and real-time issue resolution. Promote a positive, professional culture and model SDC's core value. Staffing, Scheduling & Workforce Support Assist with hiring, interviewing, and onboarding of MAs, MA2s, PRNs, and seasonal team members. Maintain daily staffing levels and coordinate coverage adjustments across pods and satellites. Support new employee integration, training follow-through, and competency completion. Track attendance, performance patterns, and turnover concerns; escalate when needed. Clinical Workflow Oversight Monitor and support high-quality rooming standards, vitals collection, medication reconciliation, and documentation prep. Ensure efficient EKG workflow (lead placement, equipment readiness, Blue Dot processes). Assist with documentation troubleshooting, routing issues, and provider workflow support. Support EECP program workflows and staff training. Competencies, Training & Protocol Support Deliver and track assigned clinical competencies (EKG, hand hygiene, emergency protocols). Reinforce compliance with clinical protocols—including BP checks, HTN pathways, and sample handling. Assist in developing orientation tools, competency quizzes, and Lead MA development support. Serve as a peer resource for clinical questions and technical support. Call Center & Patient Access Support Train MAs to support call center operations and maintain consistent availability. Collaborate with call center leadership on readiness metrics and communication needs. Assist with phone-tree and workflow improvement projects as directed. Support access-to-care initiatives, with focus on patient satisfaction and efficient response times. Safety & Compliance Support Monitor for day-to-day safety concerns and escalate to chief support as needed. Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and aligned with patient-care standards. Reinforce safe practices, infection-control expectations, and emergency workflows. Support environmental checks. Communication & Interdepartmental Collaboration Serve as a liaison between Clinical Support staff, RNs, APPs, providers, scheduling, and call center. Maintain clear, professional communication across teams. Participate in supervisor meetings, cross-department updates, and workflow standardization efforts. Support Epic-related communication tools (routing, chat, documentation support).
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple workflows simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Competence in Epic, Microsoft Office, and clinical workflows. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, multi-site environments. Ability to collaborate professionally with multidisciplinary teams.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Credentialed Medical or Nursing Assistant or equivalent clinical training. BLS certification from American Heart Association Valid driver's license Background check required (includes credit, justice, worker's comp and drug test) Prior Supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.
