Days | No Weekends Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to provide operational, financial, and clinical leadership for the Main Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department (SPD). This leadership role is responsible for optimizing surgical throughput, ensuring quality and patient safety, overseeing sterile processing operations, and driving strategic growth initiatives within a high-volume acute care surgical environment. Responsibilities Lead daily operations of the Main Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department. Oversee surgical throughput, block scheduling, patient flow, and room utilization. Ensure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Collaborate with physicians, executive leadership, and clinical teams to support operational excellence. Direct sterile processing operations and ensure compliance with sterilization and instrument tracking standards. Develop and manage departmental budgets, capital planning, and financial performance initiatives. Monitor productivity, staffing plans, scheduling, and workforce utilization. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality patient care and operational efficiency. Mentor and develop OR and SPD leadership teams. Drive employee engagement, retention, and professional development initiatives. Support implementation of advanced surgical technologies and robotic surgery programs. Analyze operational metrics and implement performance improvement strategies. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Minimum 3 years of Surgical Services experience. Minimum 1 year of Director-level or strong Surgical Services leadership experience. Strong knowledge of perioperative operations, quality management, staffing, and budgeting. Experience collaborating with Sterile Processing operations. Excellent leadership, communication, and operational management skills. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree. Experience with robotic surgery programs and advanced surgical technologies. Experience in Level II Trauma Centers or large acute care hospitals. Knowledge of sterile processing workflows and instrumentation management. Experience leading high-volume surgical departments.
