  • Healthcare Services Position Summary The Security Training & Compliance Manager
  • Healthcare Services is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive training and compliance program for contract security personnel supporting a large hospital system.
This role will build a structured healthcare-specific security curriculum focused on professionalism, customer service, workplace violence prevention, de-escalation, emergency response, and regulatory readiness within healthcare environments. This is a unique opportunity to help build a modern, professional healthcare security training program from the ground up. The organization is intentionally seeking to bring strong instructional and curriculum development practices into the security field and is open to candidates from educational, training, instructional, law enforcement, or related professional backgrounds. Healthcare security experience is preferred but not required. The company is willing to provide industry-specific training and sponsor healthcare security certifications for the right candidate. This position is anticipated to evolve into a flexible employee-based role depending on operational needs. Why This Role Is Different Traditional security training programs are often developed internally by operational personnel with limited formal instructional experience. This organization is intentionally taking a different approach by seeking a professional educator, trainer, or curriculum developer who can help build a structured, credible, and scalable training program designed specifically for healthcare security operations.   • Military or law enforcement trainers Strong instructional ability and program-building skills are the priority. Essential Responsibilities
  • Design and develop a comprehensive healthcare-specific training curriculum for security officers assigned to hospitals and healthcare facilities
  • Create lesson plans, presentations, training manuals, practical exercises, testing materials, and compliance documentation
  • Deliver classroom, virtual, and hands-on training programs
  • Develop onboarding, annual recertification, and remedial training programs
  • Ensure training content aligns with client expectations, healthcare best practices, state requirements, and applicable regulatory standards, maintain training records, attendance documentation, certifications, and compliance files
  • Assist with audit preparation and training documentation reviews
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and identify ongoing training needs Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in teaching, instruction, training, curriculum development, security, law enforcement, adult education, or a related field
  • Strong classroom presentation and public speaking skills
  • Experience developing structured lesson plans, training programs, or instructional materials
  • Ability to engage and instruct adult learners from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with hospital leadership, regulatory representatives, and security personnel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and presentation software Certifications & Professional Development The company will provide support for industry-specific healthcare security certifications and continuing education opportunities, including programs offered through the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) and other relevant organizations.
Preferred certifications may include:
  • IAHSS Basic Certification
  • IAHSS Advanced Certification
  • IAHSS Supervisor Certification
  • CPR/AED Instructor Certification
  • Crisis Intervention or De-escalation Instructor Certifications
  • Adult Education or Teaching Credentials Work Environment This position operates within active healthcare environments including hospitals, emergency departments, outpatient facilities, and healthcare campuses.
Some evening or weekend training sessions may be required based on operational needs.
