DIRECTOR
OF HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Glastonbury Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as Director of Health and Physical Education for Grades K-12. This district-level position provides leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive health and physical education program while also supporting districtwide school climate efforts that promote student wellness, engagement, and safe, inclusive learning environments. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong background in building and/or curriculum leadership, along with deep knowledge of health, physical education, and student wellness. This role requires the ability to support high-quality teaching and learning across all grade levels while advancing a cohesive, developmentally appropriate program. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, as this role partners with teachers, administrators, and families to promote educational excellence. A minimum of five years of teaching experience is required. Three years of successful supervisory and/or building-level administrative experience is preferred. This position includes one section of teaching.

Endorsements 092, 044, 043 The work year is 225 days. Salary range of $143,184 - $184,654 with an excellent benefits package.
