Job Description

Periodontal Surgical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator Waypoint Periodontics - Shelton, CT Full-Time Position Are you excited by the opportunity to help build a specialty practice from the ground up? Waypoint Periodontics is a new periodontal practice opening in Shelton, Connecticut, and we are seeking a motivated, patient-focused team member to join our office as we launch and grow. This is a unique opportunity to become an integral part of a startup practice from day one. We are looking for someone who is excited to grow with the practice, help shape the patient experience, and contribute to a positive and supportive office culture. Position Overview This is a full-time, cross-trained position that combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with patients, is highly organized, adaptable, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
Schedule Monday, Wednesday, Thursday:
Clinical days
Tuesday:
Administrative day No evenings No weekends Fridays off Responsibilities Clinical Assist with periodontal and dental implant procedures Prepare treatment rooms and surgical setups Sterilization and instrument processing Take radiographs and CBCT scans Assist with patient education and postoperative instructions Maintain clinical supplies and inventory Administrative Answer phones and schedule appointments Welcome and check in patients Coordinate treatment and assist with financial discussions Submit insurance claims and assist with administrative tasks Communicate with referring dental offices Help create an exceptional patient experience from start to finish Qualifications Positive attitude and willingness to grow with the practice Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Comfortable learning new technology and software systems Comfortable discussing treatment plans, fees, financing options and payment arrangements with patients Experience with dental insurance verification and benefit breakdowns preferred Dental assisting experience preferred Periodontal or implant experience is a plus About Waypoint Periodontics Waypoint Periodontics is a modern specialty practice focused on periodontal health, dental implants, soft tissue grafting, bone regeneration, and advanced surgical care.
