Full Job Description Who We Are:
Liberation Programs is one of Fairfield County's leading behavioral health organizations specializing in treatment for all types of substance use disorders including alcohol, opiates, depressants and stimulants. Our goal is to help individuals and families overcome addiction in order to restore their lives and ultimately strengthen our communities. Liberation provides services for youth, adults and families that include two inpatient treatment programs, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, health education for older adults and people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, treatment and resources for adolescents and their families, education and prevention efforts in the community, and permanent supportive housing for families. In operation since 1971, the agency has sites in Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport and served more than 2,400 individuals in our last fiscal year.
Our Mission:
Liberation Programs' mission is to provide prevention, treatment and recovery services to help individuals and their families impacted by substance use and mental health conditions to foster hope and maintain wellness.
Job Purpose/Function:
Oversee the daily running of Liberation House including day- to-day operations; ensure structure and treatment coordination, support and coach staff, ensure that program guidelines are clear and concise and delivered in the communal living setting. Works collaboratively with all relevant departments to ensure that service delivery for recoverees is managed and made available as well as connect with community partners to ensure that ancillary services, such as referrals for basic needs and linkages to resources are accessed as relevant. Ensures consistent sanitation, safety and security of the house as well as recoverees meet required treatment hours daily and weekly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and direct supervision to non-clinical staff /recovery support staff (RSS) and document supervision at minimum of bi-weekly. Oversee and manage RSS schedule to ensure adequate facility coverage at all times Review and approve RSS timesheets Maintain daily house meetings and coordinate in-house programming from the community. Organize treatment schedule to meet treatment hours and ensure groups are offered Ensure that staff and recoveree are aware of and adheres to IP policy and procedures Manage and review all documents to ensure accountability for clients (hourly rounds, population sheets). Communicate emergencies immediately to the program director and/or on-call manager (when not on site) by phone and follow up with email and ensure when relevant, incident reports are completed Facilitate individual, group and family sessions as relevant and/or in the absence of clinical staff Ensure all documentation including that RSS complete documentation in a timely manner De-escalate crisis situations and document details according to agency policy Serve as on-call manager as needed to ensure visible and consistent staff support, especially on the weekends. Conduct and train staff to maintain admission process including searching the belongings of all new admissions. Ensure house structure is maintained and activities are timely (breaks/meals/groups/medications) throughout day-to-day operation Ensure staff are scheduled allowing for 24/7 coverage of recoverees Ensure that treatment schedules includes activities that are recovery and supportive focused while meeting needs of recoverees. Facilitate the establishment and maintenance of a culture of mutual self-help and community Guide house structure and coach RSS in managing and resolving conflicts that may arise among recoverees and display as negative behaviors Responsible for coordination of in-house functions (food service, maintenance, transportation, housekeeping, laundry, meals, and daily programming
Qualifications:
Certification or Master's Degree in the behavioral health field, (LCSW, LMFT, LADC, LPC or CAC) preferred 5+ years working in the substance use disorder treatment field 2+ years supervising staff in a residential treatment/recovery focused setting Lived experience that includes communal and/or inpatient highly preferred Demonstrated competence working with individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders Completed training as a Recovery Coach, Interventionist, Certified Peer Specialist or equivalent recovery support training program Conflict Resolution, de-escalation, and crisis management experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Computer skills, including experience documenting within an Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred. Bilingual a plus
