Job Description

Hematology Oncology Associates was established in Palm Beach County over 35 years ago, and has grown to include 10 Board Certified Hematologist and Oncologists and 6 Nurse Practitioners in 3 convenient locations within our community. Our goals are to provide state of the art cancer treatments with a high level of compassionate care in a warm inviting environment. We also specialize in treatment of coagulation blood disorders, leukemias and other hematologic benign conditions. Job Description:
Receive and respond to incoming patient telephone calls, portal messages, and clinical inquiries. Assess patient symptoms and concerns using established triage protocols and clinical judgment. Prioritize urgent, emergent, and routine patient needs appropriately. Escalate critical patient concerns immediately to providers or nursing staff. Document all patient interactions accurately and on time in the electronic medical record (EMR). Provide patients with clinical instructions, medication guidance, appointment information, and follow-up directions as directed by providers or protocols. Coordinate same-day appointments, urgent visits, or referrals when necessary. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, infusion staff, laboratory personnel, pharmacy staff, and administrative departments. Assist with coordination of diagnostic testing, imaging, procedures, and treatment-related follow-up. Monitor provider task queues, patient callbacks, and unresolved clinical messages. Ensure continuity of communication between patients and the care team. Assist in managing symptom-related calls for oncology and hematology patients.
