This energetic position combines clinical assisting with front-office coordination, requiring a proactive attitude and excellent communication skills. Proficiency in Dentrix, an advanced dental practice management software, is essential to efficiently manage patient records, appointments, and billing. You'll be instrumental in creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients while supporting the clinical team with chairside assistance and administrative duties. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Take and develop X-rays and medical imaging to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning Manage patient check-in and check-out processes as a dental receptionist, including verifying insurance information and updating medical records in Dentrix Provide chairside support using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation to ensure patient safety during procedures Maintain accurate medical coding and documentation aligned with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and compliance Operate EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Epic to document treatment details, update patient information, and manage appointment schedules Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care instructions, and preventive practices tailored for pediatric patients when necessary Qualifications Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment, with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and medical terminology Proficiency in Dentrix software is required; experience with Eaglesoft or Epic EMR systems is a plus Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards to ensure patient privacy and safety Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining aseptic technique Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures and medical imaging techniques such as 3D scanners Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist combined with the ability to handle medical documentation and records efficiently Familiarity with medical coding practices related to dental treatments for accurate billing and insurance claims Certification in dental assisting or related fields preferred; ongoing training in pediatric dentistry or advanced imaging techniques is advantageous Join us in making a difference by providing compassionate care while supporting our team's commitment to excellence!
